Offering a Bachelor of Arts degree program in History, this department is dedicated to unraveling the rich varieties of human experience and illuminating the complexities of the past.
The Department is dedicated to foster both knowledge and appreciation of ‘What constitutes the Past,’ ‘knowing how ‘facts’ shape and impact social realities. To quote historian J.B. Bury, ‘History is a Science, No Less no More’ the department focuses on achieving the above through a systematic understanding of historical facts through observation, data collection, inter-textual analysis and record of primary and secondary sources in state/national/international libraries and archives.

The Department lays emphasis beyond class room teaching and highly encourages the promotion of critical thinking, analytical skill and a passion for inquiry amongst students in accordance with principles of NEP 2020.

The Mission of the Department of History, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), Dalgaon is aimed at promoting excellence in understanding the theoretical and practical methodologies of the Discipline of History. The course curriculum for B.A. History emphasizes a strong sense of how history is not just a discipline about ‘stories of the dead past’ as commonly referred to in popular everyday language, but a process of intricately interconnected narratives of ‘continuity and change’ between societies across the Ancient,Medieval and Modern eras.
