An awareness programme was organized on November 10, 2023 on “Menstrual Hygiene and Adolescent Health” at PDUAM, Dalgaon by Women Cell in collaboration with IQAC under the aegis of Kharupetia BPHC. The program started at around 11 am with the felicitation of the guests, Dr. Bhabani Kalita (Medical Officer), Dr. Jonali Barman (Arus Counselor) and Bhumita Kashyap (ANM). The Principal, Dr. Lakhi Prasad Hazarika talked about the importance of maintaining good health. The programme was hosted by Tamrapali Rajkonwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Assamese, PDUAM, Dalgaon. In the programme, Dr. Bhabani Kalita deliberated on adolescent health, and Jonali Barman explained various issues related to women’s menstrual hygiene and adolescent health. Two of the female students were found to be anemic and were referred to Mangaldai Civil Hospital for free treatment. The NSS volunteers helped in the health check-up of the students and the smooth progress of the programme. Kharupetia BPHC helped by providing one cartoon of sanitary pads at a cheaper rate. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Tamrapali Rajkonwar.
