Nature Camp by Eco Club

A two-day, one-night Residential Nature Camp was successfully organised on 18th & 19th March, 2026 at Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve, by the Eco Club of PDUAM, Dalgaon under EEP an initiative by MoEFCC, Govt.of India and sponsored by ASTEC, Govt of Assam.

A total of 40 students from 6 different schools of Darrang and college, accompanied by 9 Eco Club, Teacher in-charge had actively participated in the camp. The camp featured insightful sessions by distinguished Resource Persons Mr. K.P.Nath, Biologist,Orang National Park, Dr L.P.Hazarika , Principal, PDUAM, Dalgaon, Mr Hirakjyoti Das, Conservationist, Mr Nejib Ahmed, Wildlife Photographer and Conservationist delivered lectures and powerful presentation on environmental awareness and biodiversity conservation. Mr. Ankur Prasad Hazarika (AFS) Range Forest Officer , Orang National Park has graced the program with his encouraging words to the participants on the significance of forest and wildlife conservation.During the camp, various activities were conducted such as group discussion, poster presentation ,bird watching, nature walks, outdoor games and gypsy safari.

Dr.L.P.Hazarika, guided the participants for the practicals in Quantification of Biodiversity and also inidentifying different plants, trees, and insect species. The highlights of the camp was a session on environmental conservation where the participants learned about the importance of protecting natural resources and maintaining ecological balance. Students were also encouraged to keep the surroundings clean and avoid the use of plastic.The camp not only enhanced our knowledge about nature but also helped us develop teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. The program was concluded with a certificate distribution for successful completion of Nature Camp to all the participants.
